Hey everyone,
The light at the end of the tunnel… it’s near. It’s really near!!!
So I’ve spent a large part of the past few weeks sorting out the byzantine process of international shipping and putting out fires of banking/credit cards/finance-y stuff. Most of the things have been ironed out so here is an update!
Shipping
Because of the volume of the run as well as coinciding with a major festival in Malaysia, the print run had to be split into two batches. One to Spearwitch in the US and the second, to everywhere else.
I have not seen these books myself actually.

The 1st batch is in Kansas! These are ready to be posted out in batches next week. The process will take a week, max two. So US(and some Canadian) backers should be expecting your copy soon.
The 2nd batch is also ready to go to fulfilment centres. But international shipping being international shipping, I am still waiting for confirmation from the shipper on departure dates. Hopefully this will be sent out next week.

Credit Card issues
There are still a small number of folks having issues paying for shipping charges. It’s something incredibly frustrating and I’ve been working hard to sort it out. This is what I’ve got from Backerkit if it helps knowing why the card is rejected even when your bank has okay-ed it.
Hope it helps make it a little less frustrating, I barely understand it so it doesn't alleviate my suffering.
But! Paypal is now an option to pay for shipping, this could be selected via the surveys sent. Send me a message if you need your survey link again.
If you do not have Paypal, get in touch with me, I am still messaging with Backerkit to figure out solutions or alternatives.

Shipping Charge Notice Issue
There has been an issue that slipped past all of us during the smoketest.
This note under shipping should not appear.
These notes should not appear.
During the Confirm tab, you will get "Shipping will be added and charged later", this should not appear. The amount currently being charged IS the shipping fee.
No further shipping charges will be charged later.
If you are a S$75 level backer, please ignore that line. Nothing will be charged beyond the amount stated.
If you are a S$37 level backer, it will ask for your address and card information. This should not be necessary and I am trying to sort that out.
As far as I can tell, this is due to us signing up for a Beta feature of Backerkit allowing us to charge shipping later, and to edit this out would require assistance from Backerkit.
This was a blunder that neither I, Backerkit Reviews nor the smoketest spotted, and I am truly sorry about this inconvenience it's causing everyone and I'm trying to sort this out as soon as possible.

Hi Everyone,
Surveys
We will be sending out the smoke test (with 5% randomly selected backers) in the next 1-2 days. If everything checks out, the rest of the surveys will be sent after. So please check your emails/spam to make sure you don’t miss the email.
Shipping Fees
Happy to also let everyone know that despite rising shipping costs, we’ve managed to keep shipping fees for all regions within the estimated costs. Yay!
Rising costs of shipping gave me much anxiety.
Test Prints
We are going to print REALLY soon. Sharing some photos of the test prints to select paper. The designers have chosen the creamy/beige-y paper. I think it looks handsome! (We’re printing ROTRG here in Malaysia so they have full control of the design/printing process)
I dig the new cover. Vibes of an ancient manuscript, sealed for a good reason.
The other option has pretty good tactile feel too, but there can only be one winner.
Creamy paper also has a feeling that it could smell roach-ey. That is important.
Timeline
Here is an estimated timeline of when you can expect to get ROTRG in your hands and digital devices.
PDFs should be within 4 weeks.
Physical copies within 8 to 10 weeks.
4 weeks of printing
2-3 weeks of shipping to the fulfilment centre.
2-3 weeks from the fulfilment centre to you
Delays
This is our first time running a KS and doing a project this big. We’ve obviously encountered various issues and delays. So I would like to just thank you folks for the patience and for bearing with us in this process.
